Kathy Soprano

Kathy studied under Ms Helen Field and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Degree with Honours (BMus) from Cardiff University, UK in 2007. She has appeared on numerous occasions with prestigious choirs such as the BBC National Choir of Wales, Welsh National Opera, and Bath Camerata.
Kathy received lessons from Ms Rosa Mannion, while she was working as a Graduate Music Assistant at the Wells Cathedral School for two years – one of the only four specialist music schools in the U.K. In Dec 2009, she sang as the solo soprano in Handel’s Messiah in Sheffield, U.K. Kathy continues to be active as a soprano after her return to H.K., and her engagements had since included being cast as Beatrice at the musical production, The Venetian Twins with the Hong Kong Players Limited in May 2010. She now sings with the Opera Hong Kong Chorus, where she has performed La Bohéme, Dr. Sun Yat-sen (World Premiere), Carmen, La Traviata, Tales of Hoffmann, The Flying Dutchman and Faust. Her engagement performances include her operatic debut as Slave in Salome with Opera Hong Kong in October 2014 and as Solo Soprano at the Iphigenia in Brooklyn by P.D.Q. Bach Concert with Asian Chamber Orchestra in November 2014.
